The authority was created to oversee the operations of Grady Health System.
Consists of 10 members. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners appoints seven members and the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners appoints three members.

Vice Chair

Education: Undergraduate degree: Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan; two master's degrees: University of Michigan; law degree: Woodrow Wilson College of Law.
Background: Managing partner, Stephenson Reynolds Law Group, LLC. Was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 2002 as a Democrat. Formerly executive director of the State Health Planning agency; served on the State Medical Education Board.

Background: Owns and operates Atlanta Livery Co., a limousine service; joint venture partner of AAA/ Atlanta Parking Co. Former board member of Southside Medical Center, Atlanta Business League, Victory Savings Bank, and former president of the Georgia Limousine Association. Member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Education: Undergraduate degree cum laude: Dartmouth College; law degree: University of Virginia
Background: Lawyer and entrepreneur who was born at Grady. Founded Air Atlanta, the country's first African-American-controlled jet airline. Recently completed a contract with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to manage the housing authority of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Founding trustee of Clark Atlanta University, member of the Emory University Board of Visitors. |

Richard L. Teters, Jr.

Education: Undergraduate degree: Northwestern State University, Louisiana; master's: American Technological University.
Background: Entrepreneur. Retired U.S. Army colonel with background in sales and marketing, finance and accounting, and information technology. Has taught at Kennesaw State University; former vice chairman of the Fulton County Community Zoning Board.
